Tips and Tricks
Tip #1 Teach your dog to catch with popcorn
Popcorn works great for training dogs to catch because it’s light and yummy which makes it enticing enough for your dog to try and catch it. ?
Tip # 2 Use fruit and veg for training treats
There are plenty ready-made delicious, nutritious dog treats on the market. But, for a special training reward or training treat use fruits and vegetables. Our dogs love carrots, apples, bananas, blueberries, strawberries, pumpkin –almost any veg really. Just make sure to limit fruits due to their high sugar content, check the foods are dog-safe and adjust your dog’s daily intake to make sure they’re not over indulging on treats. ?
Tip # 3 Instagram
Try the new Polling Feature on Instagram stories – it’s lots of fun. Just choose the POLL sticker from the sticker menu and customise your poll. You can view their poll results at a later time by watching your own Stories. Think of fun questions to ask your viewers and enjoy the results!

From the BarkBlog
Ugh, we don’t want to talk about snakes but did you know around 6,500 dogs die of snake bite in Australia each year? Fortunately, around 75% of dogs bitten by a snake will survive if they receive proper veterinary treatment quickly.
So, what are the general signs and symptoms of a snake bite? They are:
- Common places for bite: mouth, paws and legs;
- Usually bleeding from affected area;
- Symptoms within 1st hour – signs of headache, irritability, sensitivity to light, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, failure of blood to clot and physical collapse; and
- In the following hour you may begin to notice dilated pupils, laboured breathing, stomach pain and an erratic heartbeat, you may even notice blood in their faeces or urine.
If you notice any symptoms or have any concerns at all, take your dog to the vet immediately.
Read the post in full on the BarkBlog, so you can confidently identify snake bite symptoms in your dog.
Christmas Card Exchange
It’s coming up to that time of year. Generally, you fall into one of two camps: break out the decorations, Christmas can’t come soon enough or 24 December is still too soon.
As this will be the first Christmas we will be celebrating with you, we want to open up the card exchange early. Why? Well, we were still receiving Valentines Day cards in October (true story, watch the replay). So, here we were thinking our Valentines were a bit light on this year when really, they were just a little delayed in the post.
An international music star whose been at the Top of the US Billboard charts, has a mantle full of MTV and other awards, has written soundtracks for blockbuster movies (as well as sung in them), has billions of views on YouTube and 10 million + social fans is being presented with the Happiness is Dog Shaped book on her upcoming Australian tour! This singer loves dogs and is a passionate advocate for raising awareness and funds for dogs in need. We’re thrilled that our book will be accompanying her on the Australian tour. More details to follow closer to tour dates ?
We’ve just sent three exciting new products to manufacture. One is for the humans and the other two are for doggos! We’ll have samples in soon and will be sure to show you as soon as we can as we’re super excited. ?
